The Phase Two file contains plans to combine cells from Ethan and Lily in a future treatment trial.
The language is clinical.

Donor B.
Sibling-compatible response.
No mention of a newborn boy, an eight-year-old girl or the families whose lives were manipulated to produce them.
Claire reads the file once.
Then she closes it.
“They are children, not material.”
Crane watches her from across the laboratory.
“You think naming them changes biology?”
“No. It changes who gets to decide.”
Helena stands beside Lily.
“You will never use her again.”
Crane looks toward his sister.
“Our mother carried the neurological disease. Jonathan believed our family line could both cause and cure it.”
“You knew I was pregnant.”
“Yes.”
“You arranged Blackridge.”
“I arranged access to a treatment that gave Lily a chance.”
“You also sold her.”
“The transfer was intended to keep her inside the program.”
“You turned me into a mother without a child.”
Crane’s expression remains cold.
“Emotion does not alter outcomes.”
Rebecca steps forward.
“It altered yours.”
Everyone looks at her.
“You thought adults would stay quiet because they were ashamed. You thought kids would be too scared to tell.”
Crane says nothing.
Rebecca stands beside Lily.
“We told.”
Federal agents remove Crane and Jonathan.
Michael gives a full statement admitting he concealed Rebecca’s birth records, staged Olivia’s death with federal assistance and brought Claire to Summit Haven under Jonathan’s influence.
He is not arrested immediately, but investigators warn him that charges may follow.
Claire does not defend him.
For years, she believed love required protecting the person who hurt you from consequences.
She understands now that accountability may be the only honest form of love left.
The storm clears by morning.
Rescue vehicles reach the mountain.
The hidden mothers are reunited with their newborns after emergency identity checks.
Every baby receives independent DNA testing supervised by federal courts and outside physicians.

Olivia remains beside her.

Michael signs a legal declaration recognizing that he is not Ethan’s biological father but wishes to remain responsible for the child.
Claire does not decide immediately.

Michael moves out of the family home while the investigation continues.
Rebecca is angry with him.
She still calls him Dad.

“Why help now?”

He admits he ignored irregular activity because Jonathan paid him to protect the institution, not the patients.
He loses his position but avoids prison after rescuing the hidden mothers and providing access records.

One year later, Claire sits in a bright living room far from the mountain.
She has recovered physically.
Ethan sleeps in a bassinet near the window.
Rebecca sits on the floor helping Lily build a model hospital from wooden blocks.
The girls argue over where to place the emergency room.

Michael arrives for a supervised family visit.
He brings no gifts.
Claire requested honesty instead.
Rebecca looks at him.
“Did you lie today?”
“No.”
“Did you almost lie?”
Michael thinks carefully.
“Yes.”
“What about?”
“I wanted to say the investigation will end soon. I don’t know that.”

“That was better.”
Claire watches them.

Ethan begins crying.
Michael looks toward Claire.
“May I?”
She hesitates, then allows him to lift the baby.
He holds Ethan carefully.

A delivery arrives at the front door.

Inside is a sealed medical envelope and a baby bracelet.
Claire’s hands become cold.
The bracelet carries Ethan’s name.

Claire opens the envelope.

Claire is visible in the towel compartment holding Rebecca.

Claire looks toward Michael.

Claire lifts her eyes.

The baby girl opens her eyes.
Behind the crib stands a nurse wearing a cream-colored uniform.
The woman removes her mask.
Claire recognizes the face.
It belongs to the obstetrician who delivered Rebecca eight years earlier—a doctor declared dead after Blackridge closed.
