As the weeks passed, Mateo and Lucia began spending Sunday afternoons together. They visited local parks and quiet diners, speaking openly about their past mistakes and their hopes for the future.
"I felt so small when you left," Lucia shared one afternoon as they sat on a park bench. "I felt like I wasn't enough for the life you wanted."
Mateo looked at her, deeply pained by her words. "Lucia, you were always more than enough. I was the one who was empty. I was trying to fill a void with success because I was afraid of failing you."
