Chapter 9 - HEALING TOGETHER

Slowly, we rebuilt our lives. We moved back into our old home—the house where Dad had died, the place where Mason had hidden his secret. We painted the walls bright colors, filled the empty rooms with laughter, and turned the kitchen where everything fell apart into a place where we baked, cooked, and shared every meal together.
Mom started teaching again—something she’d loved before everything changed. Mason drew pictures of us all together, and taped them to every wall. And I finally forgave myself for doubting her. I learned that believing someone doesn’t mean ignoring the facts—it means looking past what you’re shown, and holding on to what you know in your heart.
