Chapter 7 - The Light of RedemptionMonths passed after the trial. Arthur was serving his sentence, and the assets of Vance Group were restructured to compensate the workers and small business owners they had previously exploited.
Victoria, left with nothing, was forced to take a humble job at a community center. One afternoon, while wiping down dining tables after a charity lunch, she looked up to see Eleanor walking in with boxes of warm food for the underprivileged.
Victoria froze, dropping her cleaning cloth, expecting scorn or mockery.
Instead, Eleanor walked over, set down a box, and handed Victoria a bottle of water.
"It’s hard work, isn’t it?" Eleanor said softly, without a trace of bitterness.
Victoria broke down, wiping her eyes with the back of her wrist. "Why are you being nice to me after everything I did to you?"

"Because holding onto hatred only hurts the person carrying it," Eleanor replied warmly. "You lost your wealth, Victoria, but you haven't lost your life. If you learn to treat people with kindness from here on, you can still build a life worth living."
For the first time in her life, Victoria felt genuine remorse, bowing her head in silent gratitude.
