Chapter 1 - The Table at the End of the HallThe dining room of the Vance estate was a symphony of elite luxury, illuminated by sparkling crystal chandeliers and filled with the low murmur of high-society laughter. At the center of the massive table sat Matthew Vance, laughing radiantly with his arm wrapped around his mistress, Charlotte, while family members and wealthy guests feasted on lavish platters of fresh king crab and gourmet dishes.

Meanwhile, just a few feet away, isolated at a small, dimly lit side table near the hallway, little Emily sat alone. She was eating a simple, cheap bowl of instant noodles, a crumpled bank receipt with the numbers $599 resting right inside her bowl.
Clara, the neglected wife and mother, walked quietly into the room, her elegant white dress contrasting sharply with the cold neglect surrounding her daughter. She stopped in her tracks, her heart dropping as she looked down at the child. "Why are you eating alone?" Clara asked, her voice trembling slightly. Emily looked up with wide, sorrowful eyes, poking at her noodles with a fork. "Grandma said the money is for dad's mistress, not us," the little girl whispered.
Clara snatched the bank receipt from the bowl, her eyes scanning the cruel figures. A cold, fierce anger surged through her veins. She gripped the table edge, her expression turning into a mask of pure, unyielding resolve. "Get your jacket," Clara commanded quietly.
