Chapter 3 - The Secret InvestigationLater that evening, while the rest of the household slept, Christian sat in his private study reviewing the high-definition security camera logs. The estate’s network captured every angle of the corridors, but someone had attempted to corrupt the timestamps for the upper balcony feed during the exact minute of Chloe’s fall.

His phone buzzed. It was an encrypted message from his head of security, David. “We tracked the metadata override on the balcony camera,” David's message read. “It originated from an internal terminal accessed by Victoria Vance’s administrative account.”

Christian leaned back in his leather chair, a chilling calm washing over him. Victoria, a distant relative who had wormed her way into the estate's financial advisory board, had been quietly plotting to consolidate the family's assets by eliminating anyone standing in her way of total corporate control.

"She thinks she can hide behind family ties," Christian murmured to himself, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the polished mahogany desk. "Let's give her enough rope to hang herself."
