A sharp slam echoed through Terminal B parking garage as a teenage girl was thrown face-first onto the hood of a black SUV. Her backpack burst open. Books, clothes, and papers scattered across the wet concrete.
Travelers near the elevators froze.
Phones came out instantly.
Officer Travis Cole twisted the girl’s wrist harder.
Mia cried out in pain.
“That’s my dad’s car!”
The officer laughed without emotion.
“Your dad doesn’t drive federal plates.”
Cold fluorescent lights reflected off the floor. Patrol lights flashed red across concrete pillars.
