CHAPTER 4: CONSEQUENCES

Vanessa didn’t go quietly.
The next morning, she returned—with anger, denial, and threats.
“You’re ruining everything over a child who can’t behave!”
That was the moment the police stepped forward.
Her face changed instantly.
Shock.
Fear.
Then rage.
“You set me up—”
“No,” I said coldly. “You exposed yourself.”
The investigation moved fast.
Too fast for her to manipulate.
Neighbors had seen things.
Staff had heard things.
And the security cameras I installed months ago… captured more than she ever imagined.
By the end of the week, Vanessa was gone.
Not just from the house.
CHAPTER 5: WHAT REALLY MATTERS

The house felt different after that.
Quieter.
Not empty—just… honest.
Weeks later, I canceled my next business trip.
Then the one after that.
Eventually, I stopped booking them altogether.
One afternoon, I sat at my desk when I noticed something slipped under the door.
A drawing.
A superhero.
Holding hands with a smaller hero.
I opened the door.
Leo stood there, smiling—really smiling—for the first time in months.
“Do you like it?” he asked.
I knelt down in front of him.
“I love it.”
He looked at me for a second, then said softly:
“Are you staying home now?”
I didn’t hesitate.
“Yeah, buddy. I’m staying.”
Because I finally understood something I should’ve known all along:
A house isn’t a fortress.
Money isn’t protection.
And success means nothing…
If the people you love aren’t safe inside it.
May you like
That was the day I stopped building an empire—
And started being a father again.
