CHAPTER 1: A seven-year-old girl refused to take off her oversized boots for four months, and the terrifying reason left the doctor speechless.

CHAPTER 1: THE GIRL WHO REFUSED TO REMOVE HER BOOTS

Seven-year-old Sophie Walker arrived at St. Mary's Children's Hospital clutching her mother's hand and refusing to let anyone touch her boots.

At first, the nurses thought she was simply scared.

Children often became anxious in hospitals.

Especially when doctors started asking them to remove clothing or shoes.

But Sophie was different.

The moment a nurse knelt down and reached toward her boots, the little girl jerked her feet away.

""No!""

Her voice echoed through the examination room.

The nurse smiled gently.

""It's okay, sweetheart.""

Sophie shook her head so hard that tears flew from her eyes.

""You can't take them off.""

Her mother looked embarrassed.

""Sophie, stop.""

But Sophie only became more frightened.

""If you open them...""

She lowered her voice.

""Something bad will come out.""

The room became quiet.

The nurse exchanged a glance with Sophie's mother.

""What does she mean?""

Her mother sighed.

""I don't know.""

According to her mother, Sophie had been wearing the same pair of oversized brown boots for nearly four months.

Every day.

Everywhere.

She refused to remove them.

She slept in them.

Ate in them.

Even tried to shower in them.

Whenever anyone attempted to take them away, she panicked.

At first her parents thought it was a strange childhood phase.

But recently things had become worse.

Sophie complained about severe pain in her feet.

She had developed a limp.

A terrible odor surrounded the boots.

Yet she still refused to remove them.

Now the pain had become so severe that her parents had no choice but to bring her to the hospital.

Dr. Michael Harris entered the room and sat beside her.

He spoke softly.

""Can you tell me why you're afraid?""

Sophie's eyes filled with tears.

""Because if they come off...""

She swallowed.

""Everyone will hate me.""

The answer confused everyone.

The doctor glanced at her mother.

Her mother looked equally confused.

But one thing was clear.

And those boots were hiding it.
